Mr. Nasir-Ur Rahman Sinha is the eldest son of late Hamidur Rahman Sinha – the founder of The ACME Laboratories Limited. He was the Chairman of ACME from 1994 to 2014.
Mr. Nasir-Ur Rahman Sinha obtained his Master’s degree (MA) in Political Sciences from the University of Dhaka in 1965 and joined the family business – The ACME Laboratories Limited, in the late seventies.
A pioneering industrialist, Mr. Nasir-Ur Rahman Sinha, along with his brothers, transformed ACME into a thriving business and contributed to the development of the pharmaceutical industry of the country with a vision of taking our nation a step towards tomorrow. He became the Chairman of ACME Laboratories Limited in 1994 and led the company towards incredible success until 2014.
Over the years, Mr. Nasir-Ur Rahman Sinha had become one of the leading entrepreneurs in the country, successfully driving many business ventures in Bangladesh. He was associated with Dhaka Stock Exchange Ltd. since 1969, and later became a member of DSE.
Although Mr. Nasir-Ur Rahman Sinha was born with cerebral palsy – a neurological disorder, he overcame the challenges of his disability through sheer self-confidence, die-hard efforts and sincere support from his parents, family and siblings, and became a highly effective chief executive for decades performing every possible day-to-day task and more till the day he retired.
Realizing the struggles of such a disability from his personal experience, he established “Salvation for the Deserving (SFD)”, a nonprofit organization, that has helped to rehabilitate hundreds of people with disability in Bangladesh. His sons are now managing SFD and carrying his legacy of this great service to society with an equal sense of social responsibility.
Through his immensely successful work life, Mr. Nasir-Ur Rahman Sinha showed us that one could do anything with pure willpower and hard work.
